Marc Marquez celebrates in Hungary
Ducati rider Marc Marquez won the Hungarian Grand Prix today and increased his lead in the overall standings.
Marquez won with a time of 42:37.681 minutes and achieved his seventh consecutive victory. The six-time world champion in the premier class now has a total of 98 career victories. The Spaniard also won the sprint at Balaton Park on Saturday.
KTM rider Pedro Acosta, who started from seventh place, took second place, and Aprilia rider Marco Beceki was third. Acosta was 4.314 seconds behind the winner, and Beceki was 7.488 seconds behind.
Aprilia rider Jorge Martin took fourth place, Honda HRC rider Luca Marini was fifth, and Pertama rider Franco Morbidelli was sixth. KTM rider Brand Binder was seventh, KTM's Pol Espargaro eighth, Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia ninth, and Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo took 10th place.
Marc Marquez leads the overall standings with 455 points, 175 points ahead of his younger brother Alex and 227 points ahead of third-placed Bagnaia.
The championship continues in two weeks with the race in Catalonia.
