Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept sets a whole host of world records
With the AMG GT XX concept, Mercedes-AMG has demonstrated a new dimension of electric power and set a whole host of world records in the process.
It should be noted that all of this was achieved on a test track under ideal conditions, meaning that these records cannot be reproduced in everyday life.
On the test track in Nardo, southern Italy, the concept vehicle covered an impressive 5,479 kilometers in just 24 hours. That's a full 1,518 kilometers more than the previous record and an increase of almost 40 percent.
But that was just the beginning. Under the motto "Around the World in Eight Days", the AMG GT XX covered a distance equivalent to the circumference of the Earth at the equator. And in just 7 days, 13 hours, 24 minutes and 0.7 seconds, covering exactly 40,075 kilometers.
On average, the fully electric AMG covered more than 5,300 kilometers per day. In total, the vehicle broke 25 official long-distance records during its marathon journey.

List of some achievements:
2,000 km in 8 hours, 40 minutes and 34 seconds
3,945 km (comparable to the length of the legendary Route 66) in 17 hours, 14 minutes and 42 seconds
5,000 km in less than 22 hours
7,300 km (approximately all the races in a Formula 1 season) in 1 day, 8 hours and 7 minutes
10,000 km in 1 day, 20 hours and 10 minutes
15,000 km in 4 days, 11 hours and 52 minutes
20,000 km (approximately the length of the Great Wall of China) in 3 days, 16 hours and 41 minutes
25,000 km in 4 days, 15 hours and 44 minutes
30,000 km in 5 days 14 hours and 26 minutes
40,000 km in 7 days, 13 hours and 2 minutes
Thanks to an average charging power of around 850 kW, the AMG XX was able to charge up enough energy for a range of 400 kilometers in just five minutes.
With this, Mercedes-AMG not only proved that electric mobility can provide continuous performance at the highest level. The AMG GT XX also showed that the next generation of technology will redefine the boundaries of what is possible, both on the race track and on long-distance trips.
The Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept is an electric super sedan with 1,360 horsepower and a top speed of 360 km/h, which also announces the production electric car from AMG that will be presented next year.

The GT XX Concept has a new electric drivetrain with three 1,000 kW/1,360 hp motors and a 114 kWh battery, capable of charging up to 850 kW. The motors were created by the British manufacturer Yasa, which is owned by Mercedes, while the drive is to all four wheels.
Mercedes' chief technical officer, Markus Schaefer, said the upcoming production model will target a 0-100 km/h time of less than 2.5 seconds and a potential top speed of 360 km/h.
Measuring 5,204 mm long, 2,130 mm wide and 1,317 mm high, the GT XX is 150 mm longer, 61 mm wider and 130 mm lower than the existing GT 4-Door Coupe launched in 2018. These dimensions are expected to carry over to the production car, which will be built at Mercedes-Benz's Sindelfingen plant in Germany.
