New Audi Q3 Sportback
After the standard Audi Q3 of the new generation was revealed in June and which Audi says sets a new benchmark in the compact SUV segment, now its Sportback variant is also coming.
“With a total of more than two million vehicles sold worldwide since the launch of the first generation, the Audi Q3 is one of our best-selling models and has a high status in our product portfolio,” says Gernot Delner, CEO of Audi AG. “With the third generation of the Q3, we are renewing an important model family as part of our product initiative.”
According to the statement, the new Audi Q3 sets standards in several aspects. Its exterior radiates confidence and evokes emotions, while numerous innovative features make it the ideal digital companion.

Offering a more spacious passenger cabin than before, the third generation of the Q3 also features revised driver assistance technologies, updated LED and OLED lighting packages and a significantly revised driver’s cockpit.
Audi says the new Q3 is more muscular and emotional in its design, with a body defined by “a perfect combination of rounded elements and precise lines.” Much of that design is focused on improving the Q3’s aerodynamic performance, with the front end shaped to effectively control airflow.
The Singleframe grille once again dominates the front of the vehicle, positioned above a revised bumper. In profile, the Q3’s horizontal shoulder line, which runs from the headlights to the rear lights, creates an interplay of light and shadow, essentially dividing the car into two, Audi says.

A variety of alloy wheel designs are available in sizes from 17 to 20 inches.
In addition to classic SUV advantages such as easy entry, excellent visibility and a practical interior layout, the second-generation Audi Q3 Sportback combines SUV power with coupe aesthetics. Its roofline, which slopes down from the A-pillars, is 29 millimeters lower than that of an SUV. This gives the Audi Q3 Sportback an even sportier look and a faster silhouette.

The rear of the vehicle is offered with optional OLED lighting, complemented by a continuous LED strip between the taillights and an illuminated Audi logo. The rear bumper is again offered in two designs, one for the standard Q3 variants and the other for the sportier “S”.
Exterior details in Selenite silver or black are available in addition to a wide range of body colors. These are Arkona White, Glacier White, Mythos Black, Arrow Grey, Tambora Grey, Progressive Red, Navarra Blue, Sage Green, Madeira Brown and Daytona Grey (the latter only with the S line variants).
Digital Matrix LED lights are also offered, and together with LED daytime running lights, they create what Audi says are light signatures that make the Q3 “easily recognizable”.
Audi also highlights a more spacious interior than before, a new steering wheel, more storage space in the center console, a wireless charging pad for devices, as well as better acoustics (reducing wind and road noise).

Combined with a completely new user experience, the design aims to provide a greater sense of space. There are also 11.9-inch and 12.8-inch screens, as well as a head-up display for "important information that complements the digital displays."
Part of the equipment includes indirect ambient lighting with 30 colors, while a Sonos audio system with 12 speakers and a power of 420 watts will be available as an option.
The luggage compartment volume of 488 liters also demonstrates practicality. With the seat folded down, the storage space increases to up to 1,289 liters. The seat can be moved lengthwise and its angle can be adjusted as standard.
The engine range begins with a mild hybrid 1.5-liter TFSI gasoline engine with 110 kW/150 hp. With cylinder-on-demand technology, the unit is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive.

It is joined by the 150 kW/204 hp TFSI quattro variant, again with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, but here with all-wheel drive. At the top is the 195 kW/265 hp TFSI quattro variant.
Audi will also offer a front-wheel drive TDI version with 110 kW/150 hp and a standard seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
There is also a plug-in hybrid e-hybrid variant with 200 kW/272 hp. Combining an 85 kW/115 hp electric motor with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, this version has a 19.7 kWh (net) battery that enables a range of 118 km (WLTP) on electricity. It can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes when connected to a compatible 50 kW DC fast charger.

The Q3 will be offered with standard and sport-tuned suspension, depending on the variant. Progressive steering is also offered as standard.
It will also offer Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus, adding greater autonomous driving capabilities, including a driver-following camera, a parking system and reversing assist to help drivers get out of tight spaces.
These features join an extensive list of active and passive safety technologies, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, a 360-degree camera system...
The Audi Q3 Sportback starts at €46,450 in Germany and will be launched in November.
