AUTONEWS

Normally used to unclog toilets, a common type of plunger is now being used to commit the crime of vehicle theft and is going viral on social media.
In a country, supposedly in Latin America, a flagrant shows how a toilet plunger is used to gain access to a completely closed vehicle and you can only really believe it by watching the video where a woman manages the feat.
Next to a parked Renault Duster, a woman disguises her actions with a long-handled plunger, the kind used to unclog toilets, even turning it.
Looking around in a highly suspicious manner, the woman checks the interior of the Romanian SUV, which still has its windows heavily tinted with film, but realizes that there are objects of interest inside.
So, she simply sticks the plunger's rubber to the rear door window and pulls it down, moving it, which slides with the force she uses in the action, posted in a video on the channel @ononatofofocasempre.

With the rear door window down, the woman throws herself into the vehicle, which is so dark that, even during the day, she almost disappears inside it. In other words, putting on a 100% film was of no use.
After opening the door on the other side of the vehicle, the criminal gets out with a shoulder bag and a backpack, found inside the Duster, carrying with her the object of the crime, her plunger.
Fábio Henriques, a Brazilian federal police officer and self-defense instructor, confirmed that it is possible to open a car window using this cleaning instrument.

He emphasizes that the action becomes easier on windows with manual operation. Henriques explained: “The criminal sticks the plunger to the window, applies pressure and forces it down with suction. If the window is loose or poorly fitted, it may end up coming down.”
The federal agent concluded: “The motor usually locks the window when it goes up. But in older cars or cars with poor maintenance, it may work. It is not guaranteed, but I have seen it happen. It is a technique used to avoid breaking the window and to make little noise.”
The recommendation is to prevent this, and this means not leaving personal belongings or objects that could attract the interest of thieves in the car. If this is not possible, it is best to leave them in the trunk.
Keeping the windows maintained and parking in busy areas, as well as in private parking lots, helps to avoid problems.
