SYM

ADX 300 Sym: It will surprise you for much more than its price

Equipped with the same 278 cc engine as the Cruisym, but adapted to the specific characteristics of this type of bike, it offers a sufficient 26 hp of power at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 26 Nm at 6,000 rpm.

Its suspension is one of its greatest strengths, with a conventional 115 mm travel fork that works perfectly with the two rear shock absorbers, adjustable in five positions for preload. The brakes, meanwhile, also perform their function perfectly, working together with a 260 mm front disc (mounted by a 4-piston radial caliper) and a 240 mm rear disc (with a 2-piston caliper), all with Bosch 10.3 ABS.

The ADX 300 allows for smooth corner entry, as the rear brake lever also operates to a moderate extent on the front brake lever, without actually locking the rear wheel (and I tried). The ABS, for its part, is not intrusive and did not engage at any point during the test.

This ADX 300 encourages very active riding with its 770 mm dual-height seat, a position with your feet on its split floor that leaves your knees slightly elevated relative to your hips, and a straight-cut handlebar that ends with well-designed handguards that give it that adventurer-like look.

The only drawback to its dynamic handling comes from the center stand. While its inclusion seems obligatory for a scooter, especially a crossover, it doesn't hesitate to make an appearance when the fun takes over and the turns become intense, with the chassis working tire after tire, combined with CST's hybrid tires, leaving a great taste in our mouths. It rubs too much, too often, considering it invites you to take corners with joy.

Simply disengage the built-in traction control (TCS) to enjoy the ADX 300 off-road. Keeping in mind that this isn't an off-road scooter by any means (and that it weighs 200 kilos), it handles well on the track, correctly, with a measured response to the grip and the active ergonomics we mentioned, which allow it to be positioned actively in the off-road.

With a successful visual approach topped off by a smoked dome as standard that gives a welcoming presence to its controls, the ADX 300 enjoys a 7" TFT screen with several interfaces and day/night adjustment  and of course, a full battery of LEDs for the lighting, both front and rear. Last but not least, the price is surprising. The 4,599 euros that it has as a starting line in the Sym catalog makes it one of the most attractive options on the market.
