Genesis G70 Track Day Special Concept

Genesis' new "Track Day Special" concept car is a modified G70 for use on the race track.

Genesis says the "Track Day Special" was inspired by their G70 Nürburgring Track Taxi, a program launched last year that allows people to ride inside a modified G70 as it tours Germany's Nürburgring.

The package includes KW suspension, 19-inch OZ Estrema GT wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, hood vents, a redesigned front bumper with larger intakes, a splitter, a large wing mounted on the trunk lid, and tinted taillights.

The concept also features orange graphics on a matte black base, with the words G70 and Nordschleife.

The original G70 “Ring” cabs use an unmodified twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 engine with 373 hp and 510 Nm, combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Genesis doesn’t mention any details about the powertrain for this concept, so it’s assumed that nothing has been changed under the hood.

Although the G70 Track Day Special is inspired by the Nürburgring, it won’t be seeing the track anytime soon. The car was actually shown in Markham, a town just outside Toronto, Canada, and Genesis plans to take the car on a national tour, stopping at Genesis dealerships this summer.

Although the car appears production-ready, it’s expected to remain a one-off.
