The incredible Honda Civic Banana Peel

If you've ever dreamed of driving a truly extremely low-slung car, then this is the right choice for you. The name of this creation is Banana Peel, it's the work of Stance Garage Taiwan (SGT), it comes from Taiwan and, frankly, it's hard to take it seriously. But that's exactly what makes it so cool. Because how else can you describe a vehicle that looks like it jumped out of a cartoon and ended up on the road?

It's clear at first glance that the Banana Peel is not a car for the timid. With a shape that's supposed to imitate a peeled banana peel and a fitting yellow body, this electric microcar can't hide anywhere, no matter how low it is. The front part is actually just a hood with nothing underneath, and the rear part is finished with glass and a protruding spoiler above it that, according to the designer, "symbolizes the energy of nature." Translated, it looks like the cut-off top of a car, specifically a Honda Civic.

Inside, the car has two seats, not seats, because you don't sit in it, but lie down, and there's a small screen that shows speed, range, and other details.

Beneath the "peel," the Banana Peel hides a 27-horsepower electric motor, which is more than enough to get from point A to point B at a top speed of about 60 km/h, which is perfect for city traffic, but not for running away from a hungry monkey. The range is about 120 kilometers, depending on how heavy the passengers are. Charging takes about four hours from a home outlet, and fast charging is not possible because, as the creators say, "speed is not in the spirit of bananas."

The Banana Peel has seat belts and an airbag, but it's pretty certain how it would pass any safety test. According to the company, the Banana Peel wasn't created to replace classic cars, but to "change the way people look at mobility." Or translated - "we wanted to make something so strange that it would go viral." Mission accomplished. Social media is abuzz with videos of the Banana Peel, which has become a viral sensation.

The price is around 12,000 euros, which is a lot for an electric quadricycle (which this vehicle is by definition), but not much for a mobile piece of pop culture. The vehicle is currently only available in Taiwan.
