Cadillac Escalade IQL: luxury SUV coming electrified in 2026
Cadillac continues to expand its segment-leading Escalade lineup with the launch of the all-electric 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL. The Escalade IQL offers the best of the Escalade IQ, plus additional passenger and cargo capacity to meet the lifestyle needs of customers who demand extra space.
“Escalade has been the best-selling full-size luxury SUV in North America since 2014. The Escalade IQL is an important addition to the Escalade lineup and Cadillac portfolio,” said John Roth, global vice president, Cadillac. “With the Escalade IQL, Cadillac now offers a full lineup of internal combustion and all-electric Escalade options for our customers, regardless of powertrain.”
The Escalade IQL is uniquely designed and engineered to maximize passenger space in all three rows, while also providing ample storage space for cargo and gear, whether behind the third row or in the secure eTrunk.
The Escalade IQL will be sold globally, including in the U.S. and Canada, with production beginning in mid-2025 at General Motors' Factory ZERO plant in Detroit.
On the outside, the Escalade IQL features an imposing design, with a sophisticated, longer silhouette than that found on the Escalade IQ. This longer silhouette allows for more room in the third row and additional rear storage space. The large eTrunk compartment under the hood provides an additional 345 liters of secure storage.
The interior continues the luxurious, high-tech accommodations found in the Escalade IQ, including an available Executive Second Row package. The Executive Second Row package combines beauty with task-oriented functionality, featuring fold-out tables, 12.6-inch diagonal personal displays, a rear command center, two wireless phone chargers and heated and ventilated massaging seats that also offer 14-way power adjustment and headrest speakers. Increasing the vehicle’s spaciousness, the third row benefits from over 10 cm of additional legroom (92 cm x 81 cm) and 2.5 cm of headroom (97 cm x 94 cm), contributing to more comfortable seating throughout the cabin.
“The Escalade IQL builds on our iconic Escalade DNA with a commanding profile that offers additional cargo capacity. Packed with the luxurious features and design found in the Escalade IQ, the Escalade IQL is another showcase of Cadillac’s artful integration of innovation,” said Craig Sass, Cadillac Design.
Technology...Continuing the Escalade tradition of showcasing the best of Cadillac innovations, the Escalade IQL features the latest Cadillac technology for an enhanced in-cabin experience, including: • A 55-inch full-diagonal, pillar-to-pillar curved display for an immersive and personalized infotainment experience with voice control, navigation, an app store and dedicated Escalade IQL graphics.
• Available seating for up to seven passengers total, with a power-folding third row that folds flat for more storage • Standard 21-speaker AKG 4 Studio audio system, with optional 38-speaker AKG Studio Reference system, which increases to 42 speakers with the optional Executive Second Row package. The AKG audio system also features custom speakers and amplifiers.
• Dolby Atmos for added depth, clarity and detail when listening to music and entertainment • Super Cruise driver-assistance technology standard on all trim levels (3-year OnStar Super Cruise plan) • Available 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability connected by OnStar, along with a comprehensive suite of OnStar safety and connected services that enhance every drive and provide added peace of mind • Extensive passenger entertainment options, including HD streaming and browser compatibility, so customers can log into any streaming app and watch • Escalade IQL also comes equipped with two-way vehicle-to-home (V2H) charging capabilities, which, when combined with the GM Energy V2H package, enables power transfer between the vehicle and a properly equipped home in times of need.
Performance...The Escalade IQL offers up to a Cadillac-estimated 460 miles of range, and when it’s time to charge, customers can get up to 115 miles of range in 10 minutes at a public DC fast-charging station. GM's 24-module battery pack serves as the basis for the Escalade IQ and IQL, producing 205 kWh.
“The Escalade IQL delivers on the promise of innovative design combined with iconic performance achieved with this purpose-built electric vehicle architecture,” said Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer, Escalade IQL. “Building on Cadillac’s theory of isolated precision, the Escalade IQL delivers an engaging driving experience with a strong connection to the road for customers seeking a little more space,” said Al Oppenheiser. The Escalade IQL enables an uncompromising lifestyle – customers can expect more space but the same iconic performance, including:
• 750 horsepower and 1,065 Nm of torque (with driver-selectable Velocity Max, Cadillac estimate)
• 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds (with driver-selectable Velocity Max, Cadillac estimate)
• A Cadillac-estimated maximum towing capacity of 7,000 lbs.
• Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 and Air Ride Adaptive suspension isolate passengers from unwanted road surfaces while providing precise steering and feel
• Isolated Precision, Cadillac’s philosophy of ride and handling – quiet, smooth and effortless, with a strong connection to the road
• Independent front and rear suspension
• 24-inch wheels and 35-inch tires
• Standard suite of active safety and driver-assist features
• Standard Super Cruise, the industry’s first truly hands-free driver assistance technology (with three years of OnStar connected service)
The Escalade IQL will be offered in four trims: Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury and Premium Sport. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price starts at $132,695, including destination freight and excluding taxes and dealer fees. The dealer sets the final price.
Since its introduction, the Cadillac Escalade has become a cultural icon and defined the full-size luxury SUV segment for more than 25 years, with the Escalade lineup selling more than 1 million units worldwide. Together with the all-electric 2025 Escalade IQ, the updated 2025 Escalade and the all-electric 2026 Escalade IQL, the Escalade lineup is strongly positioned for the future.
