T-134: the new Lada SUV proves that the brand is still alive in Russia

Recently, Vladimir Putin visited AvtoVAZ to see future models of the Russian brand Lada, the same brand that sold cars in Brazil in the 1990s.

One of the designs Putin saw was identified as the T-134, which, while it sounds like a designation for a Russian military vehicle, was a full-size compact SUV.

This SUV had few images revealed, but they were enough to discover that the vehicle will be a new compact SUV from the Lada brand and it has many similarities with the Dacia Duster.

To better understand, the Russians from the Kolesa website made a projection of this Lada T-134, using the current generation Dacia Duster as a base.

With headlights equipped with large circles illuminated by LEDs, the Lada T-134 would also have a reinforced grille with multiple air intakes, with a hood carrying the direction indicator lights.

The bodywork is the same as the Duster, however, the C-pillars are wider than those of the Romanian model, with small windows next to the rear doors, whose handles are recessed.

The bumpers are black and robust, with lower protections at the base of the doors, however, the small rectangular-shaped lights clash with the set.

It is not known why Lada thought of lanterns like these, but they are in the T-134 project, whose name is still unknown.

Built on what looks like a localized variant of the modular CMF-B platform used in the Romanian SUV, but its engines will all be from VAZ.

There, Lada uses a 1.8 16V engine with 122 horsepower, however, this is quite old, however, there is a turbocharged version with 150 horsepower.

Another option is a 1.6 engine with 106 horsepower, as well as a 1.6 8V version, which is too weak for an SUV of this size.

Therefore, the T-134 should use one of these first two engines and with the option of four-wheel drive, in addition to CVT.
