HYUNDAI
Hyundai has officially launched the South Korean automaker's new electric vehicle models focused on commercial use. The vehicles are part of the ST1 line, launched in April of last year.
The company's first small electric work truck is available for prices starting at US$42,000. The amount does not include any incentives for models in the electrified category, according to the Electrek website.
As the name suggests, the Chassis Cab consists only of a chassis and a passenger cabin, with no cargo compartment. This allows the truck to be used for different purposes. The new model is powered by a 76.1 kWh battery and can travel up to 327 kilometers on a single charge.
Hyundai also introduced the ST1 Special High Top, which prioritizes cargo for logistics and delivery. Prices start at US$42,000. The range can reach 289 kilometers.
In both cases, the battery can be charged quickly, in about 20 minutes. The vehicles are also equipped with cloud-based navigation to show real-time information, such as nearby charging stations.
The ST1 Cargo has a range of 317 kilometers, and, according to the automaker, it is possible to travel for a week without needing to recharge, considering the average daily distance of 42 kilometers for delivery vehicles in Korea.
