GR Supra GT4 EVO updated for IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season

Since the launch of the GR Supra GT4 in 2020, thanks to the support of race organizers and customers, the model's cumulative sales have exceeded 120 units. The efforts of racing teams and drivers have enabled the car to win GT4 series races and international competitions in 11 countries and continents, achieving more than 500 podiums and becoming champion in its class on three continents: Asia, the United States and Europe.

it featured improvements in braking, handling and engine performance, making the car easier to drive for drivers of different skill levels. However, after this update, and considering that there is no end to the efforts to build ever better cars for motorsports, TGR has continued to travel to race tracks around the world to directly receive valuable feedback from racing teams and drivers, which can only be obtained in the extreme conditions of competition.

Advancing its ‘driver-first car building’ approach to harnessing this knowledge in development, TGR has scheduled the GR Supra GT4 EVO2, featuring improved performance, reliability and operability, to make its race debut at the start of the 2025 season. Specifically, the ABS maps have been retuned through multiple driver drives on circuits in Japan and Europe to enable optimal braking and cornering depending on tire type, wear and track conditions. Additionally, downshift times have been reduced through fine-tuning of rev matching via a software update, resulting in better control of deceleration under braking to increase cornering speeds. In addition to improving engine, brake and transmission cooling performance, cabin temperatures have been optimized to make the car easier to drive even in challenging conditions, helping to maintain a high level of performance. These improvements make the GR Supra GT4 EVO2 easier to drive not only for professional drivers, but also for amateur drivers who are ambitiously competing in GT4 races around the world.

The GR Supra GT4 EVO2 is expected to make its world debut in January 2025 at the first round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, which will be held in conjunction with the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Sales and customer support for the GT4 will be handled by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Europe GmbH in Europe, TRD USA, Inc. in North America, Toyota Customizing and Development Co., Ltd. in Japan and other Asian countries (excluding China), and Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. in China.
