Renault 5 E-Tech will have versions starting at €25,000 in Portugal
The new Renault 5 E-Tech is now available for order in Portugal, the French utility vehicle that replaces the also electric Zoe and which is characterized by having a retro look based on the Supercinq, the 2nd generation of the model, manufactured between 1984 and 1996 5 E-Tech offers the possibility for national drivers to choose one of two battery capacities and the smaller one, with 40 useful kWh, will be offered for €25,000 but only in 2025, the battery with the larger capacity (52 kWh) ) is the first to arrive and in 2024.
The first two versions of the R5 E-Tech available on our market for order are the Techno and the Iconic Cinq, both with an engine associated with the front axle with 150 hp manufactured by Ampere, Renault's electric vehicle division, powered by the aforementioned battery pack with 52 useful kWh (which the manufacturer calls “Comfort Range”), which guarantees a range of 410 km and can be recharged at a power of 11 kW in alternating current (AC) and 100 kW in direct current (DC ). This allows Renault's new tram to go from 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds, in addition to increasing the battery charge from 15% to 80% in 30 minutes.
The 5 E-Tech Techno with 52 kWh can be ordered for €33,000, with the most equipped version, the Iconic Cinq, being offered for €35,000 (see prices here). In addition to differences in detail, the two versions are distinguished by their equipment, with the Techno including the “safety & easy drive” package as standard and the Iconic Cinq the “winter Comfort” package and the “full ADAS” package.
But most customers are likely to wait for the time when the cheaper R5 E-Tech is available for sale. We refer to the one equipped with the 40 kWh battery pack, which can be associated with engines with 95 hp or 122 hp, depending on the version, and which ensures a range of 300 km. This will be the most affordable version of the 5 E-Tech, whose ordering period will start later, with deliveries to national customers taking place in 2025. Most likely because only then will Renault begin production of batteries for its electric models in France. , which will reduce manufacturing costs and make it possible to considerably cut the price of the battery-powered R5.
