TUNNING
BMW M3 CS Dähler
The BMW M4 CSL could not be without its five-door brother in the Bavarian brand's lineup. For those who are not convinced by the coupé body of the M4, last year the German group delighted with a true beast in sedan format, the BMW M3 CS. It loses the ‘L’ but doesn’t disappoint in terms of weight and power.
We know that there are many customers who are never satisfied with what comes from the factory. Precisely for this reason, the well-known Swiss specialist Dähler ends up surprising with an interesting tuning for the M3 CS. The tuner slightly tweaked the sedan's aesthetics, while also adding 80 hp and 90 Nm of torque to the powerful engine.
Remembering that the BMW M3 CS's propulsion system uses the 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder in-line engine from the M3 and M4. Offers 550 hp between 6,250 and 7,200 rpm; as well as a torque of 650 Nm between 2,750 rpm and 5,950 rpm. That's 40 hp more than the M3 Competition xDrive. It is mated to the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission.
Unlike the BMW M4 CSL, the M3 CS features the brilliant M xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system. All elements combine to produce 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 3.4 seconds and supreme driving abilities. In essence, the more power/less weight formula gives the new BMW M3 CS convincing performance and an exclusive aura.
The tuner's changes to the M3 CS start with a new set of suspensions that reduce the model's height by 24 mm at the front and 30 mm at the rear. If that's not enough, it also offers a set of shock absorbers that allow for height adjustment as well as changes to suspension compression and rebound.
Added to this is a custom set of 21-inch forged wheels, which can be accessorized with wheel spacers. In addition, Dähler offers some small accessories for the body, and be careful, as all these improvements are compatible with the BMW M3 and M4 in their different versions, as well as the recently launched BMW M4 CS.
The highlight is under the hood, where a simple software adjustment with Stage 1 raises the numbers to 630 hp and 740 Nm of maximum torque. We'll soon see an even wilder Stage 2, but until then we can enjoy the carbon fiber air intake and a stainless steel exhaust system, which replaces the standard titanium system.
