FORD MUSTANG GTD ESTREIA COM SUCESSO NOS EUA E SEGUE RUMO À EUROPA

Mustang GTD is a sales success in the USA

Ford ended pre-sales of the Mustang GTD in the US this week, with more than 7,500 orders for the 2025 and 2026 models of the limited-edition supercar. Now, the brand is preparing its launch in Europe, with the main showcase being the 24 Hours of Le Mans and other emblematic competitions - see video below.

Inspired by the competitive Mustang GT3, the Mustang GTD is the fastest street version of the sports car ever. Equipped with a 5.2 V8 engine with more than 800 hp, it features carbon fiber parts, active aerodynamics and other features developed for the tracks by Ford Performance, the brand's high-performance car division.

The list of Mustang GTD buyers in North America, according to the brand, includes customers from different profiles, mostly linked to competitions. The sports community was responsible for more than 20% of the flow registered on the sales website. A quarter of those registered are already Mustang owners and one in five owns vehicles from other brands with a similar level of performance.

In Europe, the Mustang GTD will debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. Afterwards, it will also be seen at the Spa 24 Hours, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and will do official timing at the famous Nurburgring circuit. In all competitions the objective is to beat the best on the continent, in the year of the Mustang's 60th anniversary celebration.

“We have tested the Mustang GTD extensively in North America, including at the Sebring and Virginia circuits. Testing now continues in Europe and our goal is to post a lap time of under seven minutes at the Nurburgring,” says Greg Goodall, chief engineer of the Mustang GTD program.
