NOVO RENAULT MASTER: A AEROVAN MULTIENERGIA DE NOVA GERAÇÃO

Renault Master line renewed for 2024

Since it was launched in 1980, more than 3 million Renault Master units have been sold, all produced in Batilly, near Metz, in eastern France. The rich history of more than 40 years is marked by the first three generations of the van, with great success in its position as the historical leader of the European market in the category. The Renault Master is sold in more than 50 countries, having arrived on the South American market in 1990. The fourth generation of the Renault Master has now arrived to perpetuate this success.

“With the New Renault Master, our intention was to get as close as possible to the definition of an ideal van. Small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, as well as fleet managers, will find in it a van that is taking a big step forward and will always be ready to help them achieve maximum productivity. They can count on this van as a true partner for their day-to-day work, whatever the energy source used”, Hélène Carvalho, responsible for the Renault Master program

Cabin design: a true workstation... “We put the customer at the center of each of our reflections, to simplify everyday use. Everything has been thought of to make the New Master a true workstation, practical, comfortable and, above all, high quality”, Louis Morasse, Director of Design for Light Commercial Vehicles at Renault

The New Renault Master offers a high-quality interior environment, close to that found in the brand's passenger vehicles. The 'S'-shaped dashboard is centered on the driver, helping to increase the space available in the cabin. The top-of-the-line materials and the 10-inch screen (standard across the range) offer a very visually pleasing high-tech touch and the dark tones of the coverings further accentuate the cocoon-like impression provided by the ultramodern cabin. The steering wheel from the passenger vehicle range can now be adjusted in both height and depth, allowing everyone to find their best driving position. In versions equipped with automatic transmission, the gear lever is located on the steering wheel, increasing comfort and safety.

With a total of 135 liters, the storage space has increased by 25%, which makes this generation the best in this regard on the market. Everything has its place in the cabin of the New Renault Master, such as the multiple storage spaces on the dashboard, side cup holders, drawer-style glove box, ceiling console and two levels of storage compartments in the doors.

The New Renault Master easily transforms into a real mobile office. When folded down, the back of the central seat forms a work table, while the seat offers a built-in notebook holder. USB-C sockets allow you to power electronic devices. Thus, every detail was designed for intense use on a daily basis, such as the ends of the seat cushions, made of more resistant material such as synthetic leather, which facilitate movements in and out of the cabin, maintaining the original appearance for longer. time. Several seat options are available, such as suspended, swivel, individual and three more versions of one-piece seats, in two versions of fabric or artificial leather.

Exterior design: strong personality, which inspires confidence... “The impressive attitude of the New Renault Master is reinforced by the imposing, vertical front grille, the horizontal LED headlights and the very robust fenders. The smallest details have been worked on with engineering to offer an attractive design, performance and efficiency”, Louis Morasse, Director of Light Commercial Vehicle Design at Renault

The design of the New Renault Master has been renewed, valued for its spectacular style and strong personality, with a modern touch to accompany the daily lives of professional customers. He was born to continue Master's success story.

The New Renault Master conveys reliability, robustness and safety. The robust front contributes to this impression, with a unique style that takes us back to the world of heavy vehicles. It features Renault's new brand identity, with the new logo and C-Shape light signature, extra-large full LED headlights and the imposing front grille. The latter is highlighted by a 'U'-shaped detail in black with a grained finish or in body color, in the top-of-the-line versions. Seven body colors are available as standard and over 300 other special color options.

The proportions were carefully crafted to offer the best balance for each body type. The rear is narrower to optimize aerodynamics and has been designed to preserve excellent tailgate opening space and payload volume. The asymmetrical cut of the rear window recalls the style already known from the Master, while the rear lights display a specific C-shaped light signature, just like the front of the body.

Detailed work was carried out regarding perceived quality and robustness. For example, side panels made from a single piece are even more visually solid, especially in the longer versions, whose more rigid structure prevents any deformation. In the cargo area, the perceived quality was also reinforced, even in the details of the chamfers and reinforcements.

Aerovan design at the service of energy performance...The exceptional work carried out on the aerodynamics of the New Renault Master allows it to offer the best efficiency in its category, whatever the energy source used. The aerodynamic coefficient was reduced by more than 20%, a value well below the previous generation and all its current competitors.

To achieve this result, its shape was worked on down to the smallest detail, such as the shorter hood, the advanced and inclined windshield, the design of the mirrors, air passages in the bumper, narrower rear part, roof slope, etc. . The aerodynamics were also worked on to improve the acoustic comfort of the cockpit.

As the size of the vehicle does not allow it to be tested in the Saint-Cyr wind tunnel, aerodynamic development studies were carried out on 83% scale models. Later, the full-size versions were validated in a specialized wind tunnel for the aviation sector.

The efforts were concretely translated into efficiency. Therefore, the New Renault Master had a significant gain of 39 g/km in CO2 emissions, allowing it to offer a value of less than 200 g/km. The exceptional aerodynamics of the New Master also allow it to contribute greatly to reducing the consumption of electric versions, as a 20% gain is possible compared to the current Master.

Multi-energy Platform...Whatever engine is chosen, New Renault Master customers will have the most efficient vehicle in its category. This allows for gains in both usage costs and payload capacity (up to 2 tons).

All versions are produced on the same assembly line, allowing great flexibility in adapting to demand. The New Renault Master is the only vehicle in its category produced in France, with all engine options for the three energy sources and all body variations produced on the same assembly line, in Batilly, near Metz, in eastern France. The engines, gearboxes and batteries are assembled in France, with 84% of suppliers located in France.

Diesel Blue dCi...Four variants of the Diesel Blue dCi engine are part of the New Master program, with powers of 105, 130, 150 and 170 hp. They offer significant gains in terms of consumption (-1.5 l/100 km on average), as well as in CO2 emissions (- 39 g/km), which allows us to stay below 200 g/km. Transmission is carried out by a classic manual gearbox or the new EAG9 automatic gearbox with a 9-speed converter, which is extremely efficient.

Electric engine...The 100% electric versions of the New Renault Master offer two engines of 96 or 105 kW, each delivering 300 Nm of torque, the first being equipped with a battery with a capacity of 40 kWh (180 km WLTP range ) and the second with an 87 kWh battery (more than 410 km of autonomy using the WLTP cycle).

This allows the New Renault Master to present record levels, such as a payload of 1,625 kg with category B license, a range of over 410 km WLTP and a towing capacity of 2.5 tonnes. Consumption remains moderate, with 21 kWh/100 km according to the WLTP standard for the version equipped with the 87 kWh battery, thanks to an innovative thermal management system. The 130 kW DC fast recharge allows you to reach 229 km of autonomy in 30 minutes. At home, 10 to 100% recharge is done in less than four hours, using a 22 kW Wallbox type wall charger with alternating current.

Hydrogen...The New Renault Master was also created to offer an H2-Tech hydrogen and fuel cell version in the future.

Exclusive braking system...The new innovative dynamic braking system with electrical assistance in the New Renault Master offers the same efficiency and the same pedal sensation, whatever the load transported. It also allows the automatic emergency braking system to be activated more quickly (reaction time divided by two), as well as stronger energy recovery for electric versions, which contributes to increased autonomy.

20 advanced driver assistance devices...The New Renault Master has 20 advanced driver assistance devices (ADAS), providing maximum safety for its occupants and other traffic users. Active safety remains at a high level of alert, whose systems include crosswind stabilization assistant, automatic emergency braking (AEBS) and towing assistant. The Intelligent Speed Assistant helps the driver to respect speed limits.

The last word in connectivity...The New Renault Master is a digital native utility vehicle, with all the standard attributes to offer maximum performance. Standard across the range, the OpenR Link multimedia system is the most intuitive on the market, with a 10-inch screen and compatibility with the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wired and wireless systems, to mirror smartphones. FOTA (firmware over-the-air) is an intelligent and evolutionary system that allows you to receive new functionalities, thanks to its ability to update remotely, available for more than 20 calculators, as well as on a smartphone (offered free of charge for 5 years) .

OpenR Link with integrated Google, even more connected and efficient...For the first time equipped in a light commercial vehicle, the ultra-modern OpenR Link multimedia system with integrated Google, developed in conjunction with Google and based on the Android Automotive OS12 system, allows The Novo Master driver has access to navigation via Google Maps, the Google Play app store and the integrated voice command assistant Google Assistant.

For an optimized connected experience, the system can be personalized like a smartphone by connecting a Google account to the user profile. The modular interface allows you to display two widgets in addition to the main view (navigation via Google Maps): music, phone, Google Assistant, vehicle, date & time, tire pressure, etc. Thanks to the menu bar located on the left of the screen, the system allows you to easily navigate between the different environments of the home page/navigation, music, phone, applications, vehicle. Additionally, a wireless smartphone charger is available to avoid running multiple cables in the cabin.

Sold from the second quarter of 2024, the New Renault Master was designed to go further, carry more and spend less, being the perfect new generation Aerovan, with engines that offer several energy options.
