Ninja 7: a hybrid motorcycle
Kawasaki doesn’t just make battery-electric motorcycles, they just announced the first mass-produced self-charging hybrid motorcycle (scooter manufacturers were not taken into account in this claim), the Ninja 7. It is powered by a 451 cc, in-line 2-cylinder internal combustion engine (59 HP), in addition, an electric motor (12 HP peak power, 48V), the system output is 69 horsepower; torque figures were not disclosed. The gearbox can work automatically, but it can also be controlled by the driver.

The Ninja 7 Hybrid is also equipped with an engine stop, when the internal combustion engine is stopped, the transmission automatically switches to 1st gear, the driver only has to operate the clutch when starting. Maneuvering is greatly facilitated by the “walking” mode, when the two-wheeler moves forward and backward with the help of the electric motor. From the outside, the unique matte lime-green and black coloring makes the low-emission Kawasaki motorcycle, which will be available from January 2024, recognizable.
