Isuzu D-Max 2024: the brand's new line that has just been presented in Thailand
The Isuzu D-Max 2024 has just been presented in Thailand, its main market in terms of sales. The renewed model will be offered in more than 100 countries in the regions of Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Central America, South America and Oceania. It arrives with a new image, more technology, a new off-road driving mode and more extensive safety equipment.
The rival to the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and Mitsubishi L200 has a more modern appearance, while maintaining a wide variety of body styles. More specifically, we have the chassis cab, regular cab, single cab and double cab. At the front, the 3D-effect grille and redesigned headlights are new, which can be bi-LED in higher trims.
New air intakes in the bumper can also be seen. As usual, the appearance varies depending on the finish, the most eye-catching being the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 4x4 with black elements, more plastic protections, contrasting aluminum protective plates and wheels up to 18 inches in matte black. At the rear we have a new lid and redesigned taillights.
For the interior, Isuzu has renewed materials, equipment and technology. The infotainment system's 9.0-inch touchscreen displays new tactile buttons and combines with a 7.0-inch digital instrumentation. There is also no shortage of USB-C ports for the front and rear passengers, and a new key with remote engine start function.
The model's mechanical offering remains unchanged compared to its predecessor. It is offered with two 4-cylinder turbodiesel options. The access engine is a 1.9 liter with 150 hp and 350 Nm of maximum torque. On top is the 3.0-liter block with 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels (2WD) or all four wheels (4WD) via a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Later, probably in 2025, a fully electric version is planned to be manufactured in Thailand. This will initially be sold in Europe. What has been improved are its off-road capabilities, as the D-Max 2024 has been equipped with modified electronics.
On the one hand, traction control has been improved when the electronic rear differential lock is activated, while a new ‘Rough Terrain Mode’ has been added. Furthermore, safety equipment has been improved thanks to a new ADAS camera with heating function for cold climates, as well as adaptive cruise control on manual versions.
