Chagan CD701 Concept

With the CD701 concept, China’s Changan has announced its future series model, which will be sold under the Qiyuan brand.

The CD701 concept is a mix of SUV and pickup truck that will be available for purchase next year (at least as far as the Chinese market is concerned).

The vehicle was presented at the Changan Automobile Science and Technology Environmental Conference in Chongqing.

It is based on the company’s SDA platform for electric vehicles and takes the form of a 5-seater SUV, with an elegant design and a sloping roofline.

The interior of the concept has a large infotainment screen, a minimalist dashboard, a head-up display and a steering wheel with a flat bottom.

It is also equipped with a display instead of the traditional mask, which can show the percentage of charge of the car’s battery and the range.

While the front end is fairly conventional, the side profile and the rear end are what draw attention. The big wheels are placed under the rectangular arches, and it has a rear part that can be converted into a pickup truck (the rear glass panel can slide up and over the roof).

The intriguing design elements continue at the rear with a semi-circular LED light bar and a display that shows battery information.
