Pepsi received 21 electric Tesla Semi trucks
Food giant Pepsi now owns a fleet of 21 examples of the much-coveted American Tesla Semi electric truck.
From the fall of 2022, the American manufacturer of electric vehicles produces the Tesla Semi, a 100% electric truck presented for the first time in 2017 and distinguished by its atypical design, three electric motors and a range of about 800 km.
Tesla Semi: A 100-unit order for Pepsi...Pepsi has placed an order for a fleet of 100 electric Semi trucks, and 21 have already been delivered to the company’s headquarters in Sacramento, California. The Tesla trucks will contribute to the company’s sustainability goals, alongside a fleet of other vehicles, including Ford e-Transit vans.
The company recently released a video showing Tesla’s electric trucks wearing the Pepsi colors, as well as information about their use within the company.
The video shows Pepsi employees driving Tesla’s fleet of semi-trailers for about 12 hours a day in Sacramento. The models are used for daily beverage deliveries over distances of less than 160 kilometers.
Medium and long distance deliveries...According to a Pepsi representative, the use of electric trucks is more advantageous for this type of short-distance food deliveries. However, three vehicles in the fleet are also dedicated to longer-distance deliveries, between 400 and 700 kilometers.
Battery-powered trucks benefit from the efficient regenerative braking system, which significantly improves range. Fleet managers and drivers of Pepsi’s Tesla Semi also said the models are comfortable and that the central driver’s position makes driving easier.
