The new Subaru WRX rally car is ready

At the end of the 2008 season, citing the economic downturn at the time, Subaru withdrew from the WRC World Rally Championship, but its distinctive blue-and-yellow cars are still considered a legend – in the United States, moreover, the motorsport program has not stopped, there it is still a factory team starts in the rally races. 

At the end of August, the latest Subaru WRX rally car will make its debut at the Ojibwe Forests Rally, where Brandon Semenuk will be navigated by Keaton Williams, in the 2024 season the second factory Subaru will be driven by Travis Pastrana – his navigator will be revealed later.

The body of the current Subaru WRX is strengthened by using seams instead of spot welding, and of course a rollover frame that complies with FIA regulations is also installed. On the outside of the body, the greatly widened wheel arches, extra ventilation openings cut into the hood and the huge rear wing represent the change. Another novelty is that the blue base color of the body is matte, while the yellow decorations are given a glossy varnish.

In accordance with the Open 4WD category existing in the USA, the 2.0-liter turbo engine receives a 33 mm restrictor, the charging pressure is maximized at 1.5 bar, so the output is 335 HP and the torque is 517 Nm. The 6-speed gearbox is made by Sadev, the R53 Suspension company assisted Subaru in building the suspension.
