Rimac Nevera Nürburgring lap record

No production electric car has lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife’s 20.8 kilometer course as fast as the Rimac Nevera. On Friday, August 18, the hyper-sports car of the Croatian brand broke the track record on the German race track.

A Croatian driver was behind the wheel of the Nevera at the time of the record-setting, who produced a time of 7:00.928. Martin Kodrić thus improved the previous track record by more than 20 seconds, which can be linked to the Tesla Model S Plaid. The one who has been in the spotlight lately for his Twitter/X affairs Elon Musk led by the brand regained its leading position in June this year, as the time of the three-motor electric Tesla, which ran for the first time in 2021, is half a minute slower than Rimac’s current result.

This year at Rimac is very much about chasing records, as evidenced by the fact that the 1,900-horsepower Nevera broke 23 performance records in one day in April:

On this occasion, Mate Rimac’s company launched the latest limited series of Nevera, but all twelve Nevera Time Attacks have already been sold. The Nevera itself was introduced just over two years ago, and despite the fact that only 150 units were made, the HUF 800-900 million model is hugely popular. In return, Mate Rimac tests and autographs each copy, and Nico Rosberg received the first copy of the electric car being built on the outskirts of Zagreb.

It owes its exuberant performance to four electric motors driving each wheel, while the 1 MW double inverter plays an essential role in the 900 Nm torque. Its top speed reaches 412 km/h, while its acceleration is really only on paper, since it improved its 0-100 sprint time from 1.85 to 1.74 seconds during the spring record decision.

A video was also made of the summit finish at the Nürburgring:
