e-3008 hits the market in September

Peugeot has released a set of new images of the 100% electric e-3008 that will debut in September this year.

Peugeot describes the e-3008 as a "completely new electric fastback SUV", highlighting its zero-emission powertrain and aerodynamic silhouette that will be much more streamlined compared to its predecessor.

In the photos, the car is still under the camouflage film, but it is clear that the new e-3008 will feature Peugeot's current design language, modeled after the design elements of the 408 model, only with a shorter stance and erect.

Another element revealed for the first time is the wheel design that will become a new style signature for the French brand, along with elegant lighting and triple claw lights.

A new grille inspired by Peugeot's Inception concept is also likely to be adopted, as the brand has previously stated that the Inception "will inspire future Peugeot products from 2025".

The compact SUV will be based on the new STLA Medium architecture (with batteries from 87 to 104 kWh), intended to replace the EMP2 platform. It will be available with three electric drive options and will offer a range of up to 700 km.

Versions will include four-wheel drive and two engines, but the single-engine, two-wheel drive configuration is expected to account for the majority of sales.

By the way, Peugeot had already shown with several official photos what the panoramic interior of the i-Cockpit looks like in the new e-3008.

Central to the dashboard is a new 21-inch curved panoramic display that combines the digital instrument cluster, head-up display and touchscreen in one unit. The right side of the curved screen is touch sensitive and provides access to infotainment, settings and climate controls. An additional touchscreen on the center console features “i-Toggles” shortcuts with 10 customizable locations that replace old aircraft-style switches.

Peugeot has retained the distinctive small-diameter two-spoke steering wheel, but the new unit has a lineup of touch-sensitive controls with a “tactile click” function to prevent accidental handling. These are combined with two new “slim and elegant” controls placed behind the steering wheel.

The tall central tunnel looks even more futuristic than on the Peugeot 3008, with additional controls including a cylindrical volume knob and an electric parking brake.

The automatic transmission selector has been moved and is located next to the start-stop button.

The rest of the dashboard feels like an evolution of the current theme. 8-color ambient lighting above the “real aluminum cladding” and high-quality fabrics create a premium look for the new 3008, supporting Peugeot's luxury movement.
