Honda ADV 2024
A success since its debut in the world market, the Honda ADV brings new options for colors and graphics, preserving the technical characteristics of an adventurous scooter, unique in its segment in Brazil.
The idea of reconciling the capabilities of a trail motorcycle with the versatility of a scooter represented not only a transgression of current regulations, but also genuine 'thinking outside the box'. With this, once again, Honda managed to offer its customers a fascinating vehicle, which before the appearance did not seem necessary, but which later proved to be a great success.
Presented in the national market in early 2021, it repeated Honda's tradition of creativity, a kind of trademark of the company, which since its founding 75 years ago has innovated without losing sight of technological aspects, practicality and, especially, enchantment.
The Honda ADV scooter is admired all over the world, and in Brazil it can be said that it has found its ideal habitat, since most of our roads are either unpaved or the quality of the floor requires the resistance that exalts the model, exemplified by the reinforced steel tubular chassis, long travel suspensions and on-off tires shod in 14-inch wheels at the front and 13-inch at the rear.
The technological care adopted in the Honda ADV's cycling part deserves a broader report, as it is unusual within its category: the telescopic front suspension, with 130 mm of travel, is combined with the twin-shock rear suspension, with Showa Twin Subtank shock absorbers equipped with three-stage springs and external reservoirs, which offer 120 mm of travel, great ability to absorb irregularities and excellent stability.
Pirelli Tourance on-off tires have an effective tread both on asphalt and on dirt, with emphasis on their measurements, 110/80-14 at the front and 130/70-13, which provide greater grip in addition to impact resistance. Finally, with regard to the cycling part, it is worth remembering the brake system: front disc of 240 mm in diameter type ‘wave’ with double piston caliper and ABS system. At the rear, a 220 mm ‘wave’ disc and a single-piston caliper.
The highlight of the Honda ADV is its 149.3 cm³ single-cylinder engine, SOHC (Single Over Head Camshaft), 4 strokes, with PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) electronic injection, with liquid cooling, coupled to a continuously variable automatic transmission CVT (V -Matic). This modern engine has the ISS (Idling Stop System), the device that, when activated through a button on the right handle, automatically turns off the engine during longer stops, turning it back on as soon as the accelerator command is activated. Such a device is associated with the ACG, a compact and advanced brushless generator/starter.
If the technology applied by Honda to its adventure scooter has no competitors, the same can be said of the design, which immediately refers to the brand's other adventure scooter, the revolutionary X-ADV. As in the 750 cc sister, the ADV uses aggressive shapes suitable for use on unpaved roads, combined with excellent ergonomics, which makes the rider and passenger fully enjoy the superior characteristics of comfort and handling of this scooter. Black-Out, a two-position adjustable windshield, 27 liters of underseat space and the safety of full LED lighting are other items that give the Honda ADV its justifiable reputation as a versatile scooter.
The 2024 version of the Honda ADV will be offered in a new Pearl Red and Matte Green colorway. The suggested public price is 23,060 reais(local currency), based on the State of São Paulo and does not include freight and insurance costs. The Honda ADV has a 3-year unlimited mileage warranty, plus 7 free oil changes during that period.
