MG EX4 Concept
The British MG, which will turn 100 next year, was once one of Europe's hottest and most iconic sports car manufacturers. We still don't know if the brand's current owner, the Chinese Nanjing Automobile, will fully resurrect this tradition, but certainly a sports car will be presented within days.
The basis is the MG4 electric hatchback, which is equipped with a dual electric motor, becoming the MG4 XPower. X refers to all-wheel drive and Power means that the two electric motors together produce 320 kW (435 hp) and 600 Nm.
The car accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and, even more admirably, stops in 33.9 meters of 100, thanks to internally cooled 345 mm brake discs and factory-installed Bridgestone Turanza on the 18-inch wheels for tires. The orange color of the brake calipers doesn't influence this, but it looks good.
By default, the car will also be available in British Racing Green; so far, there is no information about its price, nor if the hot hatch will be available in other markets of the brand, such as in Hungary.
While the XPower is a success, it won't be the most brutal MG at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which will receive its world premiere: the MG EX4 Concept, the former Metro 6R4 rally car (a 12-foot-long car, a ton car with a 416-horsepower mid-engine four-wheel drive) will also be presented here Fireball from group B) is its spiritual successor. Whether this means MG has sporting ambitions remains to be seen.
