For Ford, there is nothing strange about competing with a recreational vehicle: behold, a Puma Hybrid represents the brand in the WRC World Rally Championship as well.

The now presented half-breed will hardly take the place of the urban crossover in the upper house of the rally, but at the same time, due to the similarity in form, it may look authentic and attractive in the eyes of all those who are looking for an electric, sporty family model that can even manage on dirt roads.

Are there any? Ford certainly thinks so, or the Mustang Mach-E Rally would hardly have been born. 

In addition, they gave a special boost to the development by having Ford world champion WRC driver Ott Tänak behind the wheel at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the site of the world premiere, and drive through the traditional mountain ramp for everyone to have a good look at.

The special off-road electric car will not remain a concept, it will be produced – it is not yet known when – and it will also be available in Europe.
