FORD REVELA O NOVO MUSTANG GT4 EM SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS

The formal debut of the Mustang GT4 at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit

Ford's iconic Mustang brand is further expanding its legendary status with the formal debut of the Mustang GT4 at an event held yesterday as part of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit in eastern Belgium.

The Mustang GT4 is the latest of the blue oval's brand reinforcements in motorsports, dubbed the 'Ford vs. Everyone’ by Jim Farley, Ford President and CEO. It is based on the new 2024 Mustang Dark Horse, as well as its Mustang GT3 sibling. With this revelation, Ford officially continues an uninterrupted journey in the GT4 category, certified by SRO, which began in 2017.

The Mustang GT4 receives a bold and colorful livery, adapting those applied by Troy Lee Designs to the Mustang GT3 and SuperVan 4.2. Troy Lee is recognized as one of the world's leading motorsports paint designers.

“The Mustang GT4 is a key member of our motorsports lineup,” said Mark Rushbrook, Global Director, Ford Performance Motorsports. “Its placement between the Mustang GT3 and the soon to be unveiled Mustang Dark Horse R keeps the brand in competition at all levels of on-track performance and is an important part of our customer competition program. With this new version, based on the new seventh generation Dark Horse model, we have raised the bar on the game and are ready to challenge a whole world of competitors.”

The introduction of the Mustang Dark Horse in 2022 served as a precursor to a broader rollout of the Mustang racing family of cars, which will debut later this year. It includes the new Mustang GT4, the newly unveiled Mustang GT3 and the upcoming Mustang Dark Horse R, among others. All will continue Mustang's status as Ford's most successful brand, racing at legendary tracks across the globe, from Daytona (USA) to Bathurst (Australia), with participation ranging from professional GT racing to track and field. days for customers. The Mustang will truly be in competition around the world.

With the new Mustang GT4, Ford Performance further expands its strong partnership with Multimatic, the company that will build all Mustang GT4 units. Mustang GT4 competition V8 engines based on the Ford Coyote block, developed entirely by Ford Performance, will be assembled by Ford in Dearborn, Michigan.

“We are proud to be working with so many fantastic partners on these competition vehicle programs,” said Christian Hertrich, Director of Competition Engines, Ford Performance. “It's also very special to be able to do all the engine work for the Mustang GT4 entirely in-house. We have a great team and I'm excited that Mustang fans can see the Mustang GT4 in action."

The racing Mustang GT4 also includes Multimatic DSSV dampers, a Holinger front-gear transmission, air-actuated shift paddles, natural fiber body panels, as well as a unique aerodynamics package designed to meet the goals of the GT4 category.
