FERRARI
Ferrari Purosangue in Verde Dora by Piero Ferrari
We will never know what Enzo Ferrari would have thought of the Purosangue. From the outside it's very easy to criticize the Maranello house for jumping on the SUV bandwagon, but it's good to remember that the Italian brand is not a charity.
It's a business that needs to be profitable to grow, and we've all seen how the Cayenne, Urus and DBX have helped their respective brands to flourish economically, with a significant increase in sales.
All these high-end car makers continue to sell their flagship models, so purists can still enjoy their favorite super sports cars. The same can be said of Ferrari, which did not introduce the Purosangue to the detriment of other models in its catalogue.
In fact, the lineup of the Italian brand has never been so varied, and it is one of the last companies that continues to offer models with a V12 engine at a time when reducing the number of cylinders and the displacement of engines is on everyone's lips. regulators.
Purosangue is one of them. Now, on this occasion we are not going to talk about just any version, but one that was customized by Piero Ferrari himself. The only living son of the 'Commendatore' decided to honor his father by painting the performance SUV in Verde Dora to evoke Enzo's F400 Superamerica, built in 1962.
It eschews panoramic glass in favor of a carbon fiber roof and mounts diamond-cut forged wheels finished in matte winter grey. Inside, jade brown leather evokes the cream interior of Piero's original source of inspiration.
This unusually colored Purosangue showcases the many customization options available through Ferrari's Tailor Made programme. Just like his father did with the F400 Superamerica, the 78-year-old entrepreneur will drive this one-of-a-kind SUV.
Those who are curious to know what happened to Enzo's car, it rests at the Revs Institute museum in Naples, Florida. It was never restored, but the founder of Ferrari changed the interior and repainted the front fascia.
