YAMAHA

Yamaha E01 from next year in Europe

Yamaha could take further steps in the world of electric motorcycles next year, as it plans to launch the new E01 scooter.

The model would become Yamaha’s second publicly available electric mini, joining the all-electric scooter NEO’S.

We have known about the E01 since 2019, when the motorcycle was first officially presented as a conceptand since then, it was only discovered in 2022 that Yamaha plans to mass-produce it.

The E01 is equivalent to a 125 cc scooter, and has an 8 kW (11 hp) engine and 30 Nm of torque. It is powered by an 87.6 V 56.3 Ah lithium-ion battery. Its autonomy is said to be around 96 km at a constant speed of 60 km/h, which makes it an ideal light commuter in urban areas – but not anymore. from that.

Charging using the fast charging system takes about an hour, that is, about five hours at a regular household outlet, or 14 hours using a portable charger that can be carried with a motorcycle.

E01 is quite light for an electric machine, with a curb weight of 158 kg. That, combined with a seat height of 755 mm, should make it a fairly accessible machine, especially for those with little or no experience when it comes to two-strokes.

Yamaha has partnered with some rental companies in Asia, and the model has been available for rental in Paris for some time.

The price of E01 is not yet known.
