The Chevrolet Camaro begins its farewell with limited series
With the 2024 model year, the 6th generation Chevrolet Camaro, introduced 9 years ago, will say goodbye, and the last examples will roll off the assembly line of the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in January. Until then, we can expect a number of limited series and special cars, for starters, the Collector’s Edition is right here. With this black paintwork, the code name Panther used in the development of the original car is revived, the glossy black is called Panther Black Metallic, and the matte black Panther Matte Black available for the supercharged, 650 hp ZL1 is called Panther Matte Black. Silky black racing stripes are used for both, and only the ZL1 version is limited to 350 copies. The cars also come with a poster, and the ZL1 even comes with a Canfield Sport watch with the same serial number as the badge on the car’s steering wheel.
In its farewell year, the Chevrolet Camaro even competes in LeMans, the Garage 56 team jointly operated by Hendrick Motorsport, Chevrolet, Goodyear and IMSA will enter the NASCAR NextGen racing car. In addition to 7-time Nascar champion Jimmie Johnson, F1 world champion Jenson Button and multiple LeMans winner Mike Rockenfeller will be the drivers of the car.
The appearance of the racing car was adapted by Chevrolet designers for the Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition, the new Riptide blue color is combined with a debut graphics package, the logo of the 75-year-old Nascar racing series appears on the hood. The name of Garage 56 and its supporters appear in several places, the front spoiler and the spoiler placed on the edge of the trunk lid are unique. Like the race car, a 650-horsepower supercharged V8 powers the street car, which gets Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar tires. Only 56 examples of this special Camaro will be produced.
