Ark Zero: the little British electrified remarkable

The specialists of the London startup Ark have just put on sale in the United Kingdom an electric model designed and manufactured by themselves, called Ark Zero. As we can see in the images, it is a small zero-emission quadricycle that, in addition, is the cheapest electric vehicle in the country.

The Ark Zero is a direct rival to the Citroën Ami, Opel Rocks, Fiat Topolino and other similar electric ATVs. In the UK it is priced at GBP 5,995.

The model in question measures just 2.50 meters in length, so it is truly small, with a width of 1.20 meters and a height of 1.63 meters. Thus, it is shorter and taller than the Citroën Ami, and 20 centimeters shorter than a Smart Fortwo (2.70 m). The distance between the axles, moreover, is 1.72 meters.

The chassis and bodywork are united in the same set, made entirely of aluminum, both for its lightness and for its great capacity to absorb impacts and dissipate energy. This monocoque construction improves the vehicle's rigidity and strength, which results in greater safety.

Due to its dimensions, in the passenger compartment of this two-door quadricycle, there is only room for two occupants, in a tandem configuration, one behind the other, in the style of the Renault Twizy, although the brand ensures that there is also space for a dog to travel.

The British model incorporates a 2.2 kW or 3 hp electric motor that allows it to reach a maximum speed of just 45 km/h, so its use is limited to urban areas.

In addition, the Ark Zero announces a weight of only 489 kilograms, as well as a range of 80 kilometers, thanks to an 80 Ah lithium-ion battery. Regarding charging, the standard Type 1 charger (7.4 kW) allows you to recharge the battery between 6 and 8 hours, with a cost of around one pound sterling, according to the manufacturer.

Available through the company's website, the delivery period for the Zero is up to four months from the formalization of the order. Although it is currently only available in the UK, the brand has plans to expand to other markets.

The only version available includes LED lights, an LCD screen with Bluetooth connectivity, a reversing camera and a glass roof, among other things. Lastly, customers can choose from four body colors: red, black, white and grey.
