TOYOTA

Toyota BR75 SUV Adventure Camper

Most motorhomes are based on box vans, but according to Direct Cars, a motorhome made from a pick-up can also be a good option for those who want to escape civilization for a few days. The BR75 SUV Adventure Camper is based on the Toyota Hilux, so it has the big advantage over regular campers that it can drive confidently off-road. In place of the platform on the double cab version, a lounge unit was erected complete with a long rear overhang, which was also fitted with deflectors to improve air resistance. The streamlined box fits well into the body of the Hilux, in addition to the openable left door and tailgate, you can also enter the room through the opening behind the rear seat. When driving, 5 passengers can fit in the regular car seats and 2 adults and 2 children can sleep in the back when stopped.

When driving, 5 passengers can fit in the regular car seats and 2 adults and 2 children can sleep in the back when stopped.

Basically, the large room can be used as a dining room or living room, with a folding table and 2 stools. The open roof allows adults to stand upright and lets in plenty of natural light. In the individually selectable color interior, wooden finishes, tiled flooring and mood lighting create a homely atmosphere. The dining benches can be easily converted into a 2.3 meter long double bed, which is also comfortable for adults, while the other 1.66 meter long bed, designed for 2 children, can be folded out. from the ceiling. There is a window on both sides, and above them several storage compartments, cupboards, hangers and towel dryers have been created, and there is even a built-in refrigerator.

The living area can also be equipped with high-performance air conditioning equipment designed for apartments, which allows maintaining optimal temperature and humidity, regardless of external weather conditions. The external heat-emitting unit of the air conditioning is hidden under the motorhome's rear bumper, protected by a huge metal grille of an exclusive design. Temperature, lighting, water supply, inverter, electrical and USB connections are all controlled from an easy-to-use wall-mounted tablet-style touch panel developed in-house by Direct Cars. The living unit also includes a second, smaller room at the rear of the vehicle, equipped with a shower, waterproof floor with drain, sink, large mirror, retractable vanity and some extra storage compartments. This small room can be accessed from the inside or outside through the back door and, thanks to the water and scratch resistant floor covering, it can also be used as a bathroom or to store wet and dirty equipment. It is also practical that the shower is connected to an extra long water hose so that it can be used outside the vehicle in good weather. The trailer was equipped with an 85 liter water tank, a 20 liter fresh water tank and a 45 liter wastewater tank.

The Hilux-based BR75 motorhome can maintain its comfort functions even when it is not connected to the mains. This is made possible by a large 200 Ah secondary battery, which can be charged using the 2.4 liter diesel engine and the 200 W roof-mounted solar panel. In addition to the 100 volt indoor outlets in the living room, two outlets were created at the rear and outside for electrical devices designed for outdoor use. Direct Cars currently offers two versions of the BR75: the cheapest is based on the Toyota Hilux Z and is available from 10,980,000 yen (approx. HUF 30 million), while the more equipped model based on the Toyota Hilux GR Sport costs 12,450,000 yen . (approx. HUF 34 million). Of course, these numbers can be increased if models are ordered with additional extras such as off-road tires and rims.
