e.VOLUTION SPACE: MARCANDO O FUTURO DA MOBILIDADE, O PRIMEIRO HÍBRIDO COM GLP DO MUNDO E UMA AUTONOMIA DE 1.000 KM

e.Volution Space: the German SUV that combines electricity with LPG and has a range of 1,000km

The European Union condemned traditional combustion to the sunset, high CNG prices ended up killing cars using this fuel and electric cars are far from being cheap enough to transform mobility, presenting a scenario in which many will not be able to purchase electric cars if things don't change much.

Brands are betting on different technologies, such as electricity in the form of hybrids and plug-in hybrids with gasoline and diesel engines, in addition to the hydrogen fuel cell, but until now, no manufacturer, or startup, had dared to go one step further. in the hybrid concept, betting on combining electricity and LPG. The Germans at e.Volution GmbH achieved this on board an avant-garde SUV called the e.Volution Space.

Its appearance is one that makes heads turn wherever it goes, but what is much more interesting is the fact that it overcomes all the challenges in terms of space. The company offers two versions with more contained or more generous measurements, to offer great roominess for five to eight passengers, the latter with three rows of seats in a 2 3 3 arrangement. The e.Volution Space measures 4,092/4920 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,940 mm in height. The distance between the axles was not informed by the manufacturer.

The German brand also did not inform the volume of the trunk, but it points to a very generous figure that can be increased, since the car can be converted into a pick-up, eliminating the rear panels and part of the roof. The interior does not differ much between a concept car and a production model, featuring a large screen that occupies the minimalist dashboard, with a thin transmission tunnel with the right and necessary controls.

However, much more interesting is its powertrain, the first in the industry to have a propulsion system involving two electrified axles that develop a maximum power of 190 hp each, an LPG and a gasoline tank, and a battery of Lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 40 kWh. The electric energy accumulator offers a maximum autonomy of 150 kilometers.

The startup also integrated a small single-cylinder engine powered by LPG as an energy extender, with which it manages to extend the maximum range up to 600 kilometers, while recharging the lithium-ion battery. With it charged and the gas tank to the maximum, the autonomy is increased up to 750 kilometers, although it also uses gasoline to start and warm up the engine. The people at e.Volution GmbH estimate that the autonomy can reach up to 1,000 kilometers.

A battery that has a quick charge system that needs just five minutes to recharge. At the same time, a photovoltaic sunroof is also offered as an option. It is a combination with which the vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h, carry a maximum of 650 kilos and, in addition, offer a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tons.

According to the manufacturer, the e.Volution GmbH was designed to offer a useful life of up to 50 years, five times longer than a conventional passenger car, and is ready to reach the market. This will happen throughout 2025, in principle intended for shared mobility and only by subscription, at a price of 1,000 euros per month, including maintenance, winter tires and insurance.
