DS 4 ESPRIT DE VOYAGE: UMA NOVA EDIÇÃO ESPECIAL PARA O COMPACTO FRANCÊS

DS 4 Esprit de Voyage: exclusive aesthetic touches and unique features

Since the DS 4 hit the market in 2021, it's too early to think about a mid-lifecycle upgrade. However, the French brand is not going to sit idly by as its idea is to continue innovating with this and the rest of its models, which leads to the creation of a series of collections - in the form of special editions - that will arrive every year and will distinguish themselves from other finishes by displaying some exclusive aesthetic touches, as well as unique characteristics to be able to differentiate themselves.

The first of these collections is called Esprit de Voyage, which arrives first on the DS 4 and then extends - throughout the year - to the rest of the French manufacturer's family.

With the launch of this collection, DS intends to combine elegance and comfort with care for details and practicality, that is, it aspires to pay homage to the “French art of traveling”. His intentions are clear with the logo designed to identify this special series: a map of Europe built with rays that emerge from Paris. This identity code can be located on the exterior, specifically in a laser engraving on the mirror housings, combined with the exclusive 19-inch Cannes wheels and the glossy black touches both on the front DS Wings and on the side moldings and the strip that joins the taillights, not forgetting the roof in Pérola black.

Inside, the French compact bets on the light and luminous tones that characterize summer fashion, but without dispensing with the dark surfaces on the dashboard designed to avoid annoying reflections from the sun. All this with high quality materials that leave a good feeling and make the DS 4 an authentic reference in the C segment in this sense. It stands out for its upholstery based on Nappa leather, with a Galet gray color for the seats while Granite gray covers the door panels and a panel where the aforementioned logo designed for the Esprit de Voyage collection appears. The latter also appears on doorsteps in welcome.

In terms of equipment, the Esprit de Voyage reinforces its idea of making trips more comfortable and pleasant, with heated and ventilated front seats with a massage function, from which you can observe the data offered by the head-up display with extended information. To the right are located the 10.3-inch touchscreen and another small display located on the center console designed to more easily access certain vehicle functions without taking your eyes off the road. All this with laminated acoustic glass and matrix optical groups that will allow you to use the high beams without having to worry about disturbing other drivers. Also included as standard is DS Drive Assist (giving the DS 4 a Level 2 autonomous drive) with rear traffic detection.

Optionally, the user can have a 360-degree rear view camera, a DS Night Vision night vision system (first in the segment), HiFi Focal Electra sound equipment and an electric tailgate with hands-free function. In addition, Drive Assist 2.0 will allow you to change lanes semi-automatically.

Based on the Rivoli finish, the Esprit de Voyage does not introduce any changes on a technical level with respect to the standard DS 4, which means that it also shares propulsion systems with the rest of the range. Thus, the access engines offer 130 hp of power, both in the case of PureTech and BlueHDI, while the alternative with higher performance and efficiency is the plug-in hybrid E-Tense. We are talking about a mechanic that combines a 180 hp thermal engine with an electric one to jointly offer a total of 225 hp of power and a maximum torque of 360 Nm, sent exclusively to the front axle.

Regardless of the engine chosen, the DS 4 Esprit de Voyage will only be offered with an 8-speed automatic transmission with which the French compact can announce combined consumption ranging from 16 to 83 km/l. A car that promises to offer a plus of comfort thanks, among other things, to the 19-inch wheels that are shod with tires with a larger profile than usual - the measurements are 205/55 R19.
