AC Cobra GT Roadster unveil 2023

After the digital graphics were shown in March, the AC Cobra has been officially presented with a completely new development, but which has remained true to the classic appearance. The passenger compartment was tailored for people taller than 1.8 meters, the wheelbase of 2570 mm is an increase of 284 mm compared to the original car produced in the 60s, the body length of 4225 mm means an increase of “only” 110 mm, it was widened also the gauge. Thanks to the modifications, the mass distribution has become more uniform, the center of mass has been lowered, which results in better drivability overall.

A carbon body is mounted on the aluminum frame, the curb weight remains below 1,450 kg, and the 5.0-liter V8 from Ford is installed in the long nose as a naturally aspirated engine or with a supercharger. In the standard case, the output is 460 HP/570 Nm (acceleration from 0 to 96 km/h in 4.5 seconds, top speed of 250 km/h), the option is 663 HP/780 Nm (acceleration from 0 to 96 km/h in 3.4 seconds, 278 km /h top speed). 

As standard, a 6-speed manual transmission is provided, an optional 10-speed automatic can be controlled with the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, left-hand or right-hand drive is also available. Modern safety equipment is also on board, for example, the stability control gives a variable amount of playing field according to the selected mode; as standard, a traditional self-locking differential with Torsen system is provided as an option. AC Cars, which not only developed a new model, but also modernized production, wants to produce 250 GT Roadsters per year, the first year’s production has been sold in advance.
