Maxus GST: electric pick-up with 1,000 kilometers of range

The electric pick-up seems to be gaining ground considerably. Ford has the Ford F-150 Lightning that cannot be towed in its home country of the United States, Chevrolet is launching an electric Silverado, Ram is marketing the electric 1500 REV and Tesla has had the Cybertruck for years. During Auto China, the Chinese Maxus showed the GST, a preview of an electric pick-up with which it wants to enter the EV battle.

The Maxus GST is still a study model, so you have to think about things like the wrongly opening rear doors and the extra optical glimmers. The Maxus GST has four electric motors with a total of 1,014 horsepower and must therefore be able to zoom from a standstill to a speed of 100 km / h in about 3 seconds. The GST should be able to reach about 1,000 kilometers on a full battery, although that is of course a range that is predicted following the Chinese CLTC cycle.

The concept car can turn in place on its axis as if it were a tracked vehicle, has 40 centimeters long suspension travel and a dashboard with a display over almost the entire width. Maxus GST: charging and recharging! A striking feature of the pick-up is the fact that you can open the rear of the cab to increase the load space. You may know such a concept from cars such as the Chevrolet Avalanche, Cadillac Escalade EXT, GMC Envoy XUV and Hummer H2 SUT. Whether and when Maxus will release a production version is not yet known.
