New generation of Maserati Quattroporte will arrive in 2024 electrified

The new generation of the Maserati Quattroporte will arrive in 2024 exclusively with an electric motor and with the mission to replace both its predecessor and the Ghibli. It will sit between the new GranTurismo and the new generation of the Levante, the trident brand's largest SUV.

The Maserati Quattroporte 2024 will therefore adopt the surname Folgore, which is what distinguishes within the Italian manufacturer the electric units from those with combustion. It is totally ruled out that this sedan is also sold with thermal engines, something that happens with the new GranTurismo.

The arrival of the new Maserati Quattroporte will roughly coincide in time with the end of production of the Ghibli, scheduled for the end of 2024, so that the electric car will become the brand's only sedan. It will also be a vehicle a little smaller than the current Quattroporte, which measures 5.27 meters.

With the new Quattroporte, Maserati will seek to attack the luxury electric sedan segment, such as the BMW i7 and the Mercedes-Benz EQE, but with a more sporty touch that will also make you look to the Porsche Taycan. The differentiating point with which they hope to attract customers is exclusivity.

The electric experience gained with the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore will be very important in the development of the new Quattroporte. In fact, it is expected to equip the same 92.5 kWh capacity battery, although it does not reach the power of 761 hp. All that has been learned will also serve to design the new generation of the Levante, also fully electric and whose arrival is scheduled for 2025.

Maserati expects to be able to sell the new Quattroporte 2024 from 160,000 euros, a price lower than that of the GranTurismo Folgore. In addition, when it hits the market, it is assumed that the brand will have already shown two other electric vehicles, such as the battery versions of the Grecale and the MC20.
