Odyssey e:HEV Absolute EX Black Edition

Honda stopped production of the Japanese version of the Odyssey at the Sayama plant at the end of 2021, when the minivan was withdrawn from the local market. However, due to market demand, this model is now officially returning to the Japanese market.

However, it is now not made in Japan, but comes as an import from China and will be sold as the Odyssey e:HEV Absolute EX Black Edition.

This type of vehicle has a hybrid powertrain and a number of black elements on the exterior. Also, its cabin is different compared to the version sold in the United States. The dashboard looks a bit more modern with thinner horizontal air vents and a more modern climate control device.

It also has a larger 11.4-inch screen for infotainment and a USB-C port for second-row passengers. The two captain’s chairs in the middle are el. adjustable and with a heater, and they have armrests on both sides.

There is also three-zone automatic air conditioning, leather upholstery and electric. opening the tailgate.

Imported from the Guangzhou factory, this Odyssey is based on the second minivan facelift introduced in late 2020.

It is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine as part of a hybrid drivetrain that delivers a combined power output of 212PS and 315Nm of torque, mated to an e-CVT gearbox.

The Odyssey e:HEV Absolute EX Black Edition will be available to customers in Japan from the fourth quarter of 2023, with orders beginning in the fall.
