New Dacia Duster caught: Bigster influences

New Duster Caught: bigster influences

Next year there will be a completely new generation of the Dacia Duster in the Dutch showrooms. In this brand-new set of photos, a packed prototype of that completely new Dacia Duster can already be seen. What seems? The Duster will also closely resemble the Bigster Concept from two years ago.

The Dacia Duster that you can currently find at Dacia dealers was presented in 2017 at the Frankfurt IAA. Although the current Duster hardly shares external matters with its predecessor, it does share its aging B0 platform with the first generation Duster. Next year there will be a completely new Dacia Duster on the much more modern CMF-B platform. You know that base from the Dacia Jogger, but also from Renaults such as the Clio and Captur. The all-new Duster is already very visible in these spy photos.

The new Dacia Duster is quite similar to the Bigster Concept that the brand presented in 2021. With that study model, the Romanian brand indicated that it had the ambition to come up with a larger SUV than the Duster. In mid-2021, AutoWeek was already able to show you patent plates of a new Dacia SUV that was clearly doused with design influences from the Bigster Concept. Maybe we already had the new Duster by then. The packed test model in these photos can be seen in size, namely the new Duster, but its external characteristics almost completely correspond to the Dacia on the patent drawings mentioned. The 'bigger' Dacia may be a longer version of the new Duster. With the Bigster Concept, there was just a little more going on behind the C-pillar than with the Duster in these spy photos.

The new Dacia design mainly brings more pronounced shapes to the Duster. The SUV is overloaded with angular lines and lighting that is a lot more daring than that of the current model. The new Dacia Duster, just like the later big brother of the model, will soon be produced in the Romanian Miovani. Don't be surprised if the Duster comes with hybrid technology, just like the Jogger.
