WATT EV

Watt EV eCV1: the new British electrified modular utility vehicle that will hit the market in 2024

The British from Watt Electric Vehicles will try to conquer the electric utility market, with the Watt EV eCV1 that should land in 2024.

The last time British start-up Watt Veículos Elétricos (Watt EV or WEVC) hit the headlines was with the presentation of a 100% electric sports coupe called the WEVC Coupe, whose styling was reminiscent of the Porsche 356.

This vehicle was based on the PACES (Passenger And Commercial EV Skateboard) electric platform, which the company announced as particularly modular and capable of equipping any type of electric vehicle, traction, propulsion or four-wheel drive.

In fact, this aluminum architecture can equally form the basis of a city car, a sedan, an SUV or a sports car and even a commercial vehicle. This is how the Watt EV eCV1, a 100% electric utility vehicle prototype, is due to be produced starting next year.

For now, the start-up only transmits 3D visuals of the model: it takes the form of a chassis-cab, reminiscent of the Tesla Semi, but much smaller. There is a large glazed area, with a windscreen that seems to extend into the side windows.

Multiple possibilities are possible: chassis-cab, platform truck, van or large van, with different lengths or even fully customized layouts to meet the needs of its customers. Inside, the cabin can be configured to accommodate one, two or three seats with a driver's position in the center of the cabin.

Watt EV eCV1 autonomy...Technically, the Watt EV eCV1 battery is integrated into the chassis and has a capacity of 110 kW offering a theoretical autonomy of 460 km. Its chassis, made of aluminum, allows it to contain its weight at 1,750 kg.

No further details on the engines were given, but we can already imagine that various configurations will be offered, with different power levels and versions with two or four wheel drive.

More information about the Watt EV eCV1 is expected to be revealed at a later date. Production is scheduled for the year 2024 at a factory capable of producing 5,000 copies of the model each year.
