Ford termina a produção de minivans S-Max e Galaxy

Automotive giant to continue S-Max and Galaxy models in Europe from April

According to Automotive News Europe, Ford has decided to stop production of S-Max and Galaxy minivans in Europe from April. This will lead to the dismissal of around 1,100 employees at the factory in Valencia, which produced these cars.

Previously, the same factory produced Mondeo, but this model was also "cancelled".

Ford is again focusing on the production of electric cars and crossovers, but even here everything is not simple: earlier the company said that it planned to abandon a pair of small crossovers, designed for five people.

Specific models weren't named, but we can assume Ford will ditch the Kuga/Edge and Ecosport.

Also in question is the fate of the Ford Fiesta and Focus. And if mid-size models like Focus are still in demand in Europe (then maybe just changing the model to electric), then Fiesta is definitely in the risk group - in connection with the transition to the new emission standards small and inexpensive cars become unprofitable for automakers, and that's not just about Ford.
