The criminals broke into the car dealership around 2 am and left in less than a minute in six Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcats. At the time of publication, police had recovered five of the six, but one was still missing.
We are talking about the Don Franklin Somerset Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership located in Somerset, Kentucky.
"$600,000 worth of cars were missing. That's a lot of money," general manager Adam Bryant told local news network WKYT immediately after the theft. "They broke in the back window, broke into the building, found the keys to the six cars and stole them."
According to the manager, the seven-car group left in six Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcats in just 40 seconds, with a police response time of around three minutes until the alarm was raised.
The robbers split up and went in completely different directions. During the night, police found five of the six cars that had ended up in different locations, including Tennessee and Alabama. One simply ran out of fuel.
As Carscoops writes, thieves often steal high-powered cars. This particular dealership already had four Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcats stolen from it in September 2022.
