DEFENDER ‘MAYHEM’ BY ECD...ECD Automotive Design, a company specializing in restoring Land Rover models and creating all kinds of specific projects, such as this ingenious Defender 110 (pictured above).

As usual in these types of restomod works, this is a Defender full of modern solutions and amenities, with a more powerful engine and a very particular aesthetic. In this case it was called 'Project Mayhem', which means commotion or turmoil.

According to Tom Humble, one of the founders of ECD Automotive Design, the Mayhem is fully modernized and is ready to face any type of obstacle, thanks to the specific all-terrain preparation. Although they have not announced a concrete price, this type of preparation by the company usually exceeds 200,000 dollars.

The model incorporates large 20-inch wheels with 33-inch (83.8 cm) high BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, a front bumper with integrated winch, metal underguards, safety bars on the outside of the bodywork and metal mesh guards for glasses, for example.

According to the company, one of the most characteristic traits is the exterior color, called Santorini black, which is present on the bodywork, roof rack, safety bars, wheels and bumper protections.

The soul of this Defender is a V8 LT4 engine from General Motors, supercharged through a volumetric compressor, which in other home preparations offers a generous power of 659 hp and delivers an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in around 5 seconds.

There is also no lack of black Brembo brake calipers, an ECD air suspension and an interior with MoMo steering wheel, All American instrumentation and clocks and four Corbeau competition seats, equipped with heating.

In addition to the two rows of seats, there is also room for four other people, on benches arranged on the sides of the passenger compartment to sit face to face. Like the exterior, the interior follows the all-black decor, from the seats and door frames, to the wooden elements, also painted black.
