MAZDA CX-60 TOPO DE LINHA ESTREIA NOVO MOTOR DIESEL DE 6 CILINDROS EM LINHA E ULTRA-BAIXAS EMISSÕES

Mazda CX-60 with new e-Skyactiv D engine, 6-cylinder in-line and 3.3L-powerful, clean and efficient

Following the launch, last September, of the new Mazda CX-60, a process that started with an unprecedented plug-in hybrid version, a diesel version is now arriving on the market, which debuts an equally new 6-cylinder e-Skyactiv D engine in line and 3.3 liters, powerful, clean and efficient.

It's a further demonstration of Mazda's multi-solution approach, in this case meeting the needs of customers who want an efficient car that can cover long distances, along with high towing capacity. This strategy of multiple mechanical solutions allows Mazda to offer different products and technologies, including much more efficient internal combustion engines, as well as a wide range of electrified powertrains, engines that generate the lowest possible levels of emissions, adapting to the specificities different markets and the sustainability standards required by society today.

Making its debut for Mazda, the brand new e-Skyactiv D block with 6 cylinders in line and 3.3 liters of capacity stands out for its integration of the advanced and highly innovative DCPCI (Distribution-Controlled Partially Premixed Compression Ignition) combustion technology, which allows to increase the levels of efficiency, for a more agile response to acceleration, while meeting future regulations in terms of emissions, increasing thermal efficiency by more than 40% in a significant part of the rev range. As one of the cleanest diesel engines in the world, Mazda is confident it will exceed the requirements of all future emissions regulations when they come into force.

Its in-line 6-cylinder architecture generates less vibrations due to its characteristic 'perfect balance', translating into smooth and silent driving, transmitting a seductive and enveloping sound. The high engine torque gives the CX-60 a high towing capacity of 2,500 kg. Also due to its streamlined structure, the weight of the engine is similar to that of a 2.2 liter Mazda Skyactiv D 4-cylinder diesel engine, thus minimizing variations in the balance of handling.

Among the numerous technologies present, other solutions also stand out that contribute significantly to its excellent autonomy, driving sensations and economy, specifically the new 48 V M Hybrid Boost system, which generates 153 Nm of additional torque, or even the Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive), allowing you to choose between four driving modes, for optimal control and pleasure behind the wheel in different driving scenarios.

Two levels of power for two excellent driving experiences... Developed according to the concept of 'right sizing', which optimizes capacity/displacement to improve both efficiency in terms of fuel consumption and in terms of available power, the brand new 3,283 cc e-Skyactiv D unit, longitudinally mounted and with common rail electric direct injection, will be offered in different markets with two power levels, complementing an entry-level version with 200 hp/147 kW and rear-wheel drive, with another of level superior, with 254 hp/187 kW.

In terms of values, starting with the most powerful version of the e-Skyactiv D block, it provides impressive levels of performance, registering an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 219 km/h, offering an average consumption of just 18.9 km/l and CO2 emissions of just 137 g/km. It's mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission and benefits from Mazda's i-Activ All-Wheel Drive all-wheel drive system. As for the 200 hp/147 kW version, it registers an average consumption of 20 km/l and CO2 emissions of just 128 g/km (WLTP values). It is associated with a rear wheel drive system.

Mazda CX-60 3.3 e-Skyactiv D - Summary of features...The new Mazda CX-60 3.3 e-Skyactiv D is proposed with an alignment in almost everything identical to that practiced for the PHEV version, both in terms of equipment levels - 4 levels in total, from Prime-Line access to top-of-the-line Takumi - and respective contents, whether in terms of option packs, colors or interior compositions.

Mazda with more news on the mid-term horizon...With the launch of the CX-60, Mazda has taken another important step in reducing the volume of emissions from its lineup, on its way to becoming fully carbon neutral by 2050 But the innovations inherent to it will not stop here as Mazda will launch, over the next three years, five new electrified products, based on the architecture of multi-solution platforms.

At a date to be announced, the mechanical range of the Mazda CX-60 will be completed with a new e-Skyactiv G gasoline engine, also with 6 cylinders in line, but with a displacement of 3.0 liters, a solution that will join the new 3.3 e -Skyactiv D, now introduced to the market, and the 2.5 e-Skyactiv PHEV block that arrived in September 2022.

Customers will, from then on, be able to rely on a set of technologically advanced and highly efficient engines, suited to the extraordinary levels of construction and on-board technology inherent to the CX-60 line.

Also on a date to be announced, the new Mazda CX-80 line will be launched in Europe, a new proposal that, among others, stands out for the adoption of a third row of seats, having therefore an increase in dimensions compared to the current one. Mazda's biggest SUV.

Details regarding the launch of the Mazda CX-60 3.0 e-Skyactiv G and the future Mazda CX-80 range will be announced in a dedicated communication, which will become available closer to the respective market introduction dates.

Finally, remembering that after 2025 the brand from Hiroshima will launch its 100% new Skyactiv EV Scalable Architecture, an unprecedented technological solution that will allow Mazda to efficiently build electric cars of all sizes based on a common platform.
