VENOM 1000: World's Fastest Mustang Shelby GT500

It's been almost two years since Hennessey Performance unveiled its Venom 1000, a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 taken to the extreme, whose 5.2 liter V8 engine, supercharged by a volumetric compressor, reaches a power of up to 1,014 hp.

Since then, the company has launched an even more beastly preparation, the Venom 1200, which manages to squeeze even more the Ford V8 engine, reaching a power of 1,221 hp and a figure of maximum torque of 1,223 Nm.

Although there is already a more powerful model in the Texan specialist's stable, John Hennessey's engineers wanted to show on video what the 'old' Venom 1000 is capable of.

Hennessey achieves these numbers thanks to a new compressor, an improved air induction system, new injectors and fuel circuit, improved intercooler, recalibrated transmission and a new exhaust system that improves the sound of the 'Predator' V8.

After taking the car for a ride with a Christmas tree on the roof to celebrate the last holiday season, now Hennessey wanted to find out how fast the Venom 1000 can reach without the tree on the back, and the result is really impressive.

With its 1,014 hp at 7,000 rpm and a huge maximum torque of 1,152 Nm from 4,800 rpm, the Venom 1000 managed to reach 329 km/h (204.4 miles per hour) on Continental's test track, Uvalde Proving Grounds, also in Texas.

In any case, to obtain the aforementioned power figures, these Hennessey models need to use racing fuel or E85 bioethanol, as with conventional gasoline the number is not so high.
