Laser: the new method to remove rust from your car

Rust can occur on almost any car. There are several treatments and methods that remove oxidation, but laser removal is one of the most interesting.

The oxidation of metals is a very natural process, but it is not desirable in the cars we drive. Rust, in addition to the visual impact, can affect important car components. We are talking here about the resistance structure or the braking system, vital elements for passenger safety.

Of course, this can be removed by various methods such as sandblasting with glass balls, sand or other abrasive materials. These methods are a bit confusing, but there seems to be a much faster and more efficient method.

How to remove rust with the help of a laser...We are talking about laser rust removal here. The video posted on YouTube by Carros de Insider shows us how the oxidation elimination process takes place.

The car used in this demonstration is a heavily rusted Renault 5, manufactured in 1979. With the help of the device, the car is cleaned of rust accumulated over 40 years.

After putting on the proper gear, the protagonist of the clip began to remove the rust. He started with one of the wheels, which was pretty rusty. When passing with the tip of the device, the laser beam removes the oxide, revealing the clean metal underneath. The same thing happens with the wings of cars, components very attacked by rust.

This slide manages to remove the rust with the help of the laser, of course. It uses a specific frequency. Once this frequency is established, it will be transmitted by the mobile end. When the device is pointed at the oxide, the laser removes the oxide from the metal and the underlying surface is unaffected. It is recommended to keep the device always in motion so as not to damage the good metal underneath.

Note: Such a professional device can end up costing more than 10,000 euros.
