Ferrari F250 GT Forge Design...The history of Ferrari is full of fascinating cars, models that continue to command attention left and right. Motorized dreams that go beyond subjectivity and that cannot fail to be described as 'beautiful'.
Among them is the Ferrari F250 GT Berlinetta SWB, a sinuous sports coupe presented at the 1959 Paris Motor Show, two years before the debut of the even more famous and beloved F250 GTO.
Today the classic SWB returns through the British company Forge Design, giving shape to a restomod that keeps the Berlinetta's charm intact, adding touches of modernity and a flaming engine that does not give up the V12, but with an eye on the future: hydrogen.
Inspired by the 'Comp 61' version of the F250 SWB - characterized by a lighter chassis, a particularly thin aluminum body (just 1.1 mm) and engine modifications, the Ferrari by Forge Design, called Competizione Ventidue, stands out for its minimalism of its forms, molded with ultralight materials.
In reality, the body is made of carbon fiber, which is also used in the chassis, along with aluminum. The front hood is closed with leather straps, very nice to look at and used to save weight. The same reason why the rear window is not glass, but polycarbonate. In fact, lightness comes first... and with great style.
In fact, Forge Design did not want to change the lines of the Ferrari F250 GT Berlinetta SWB, keeping the round headlights integrated into the bodywork, but enriched with LED diodes. Past and future merge in this way in the Competizione Ventidue, with the engine acting as the spearhead.
To keep the tradition intact, in fact, the British restomod is propelled by a V12 engine whose specifications are still a top secret, but of which we know the most important detail: it works by hydrogen injection.
A solution that, therefore, should be very similar to the one that Toyota uses in several prototypes: without a fuel cell, but with a functioning similar to that of a classic thermal engine, with the difference that there is no gasoline to burn and no polluting emissions.
The price for now is completely unknown, as well as the number of units that will be produced and the official release date.
