LOTUS

Eletre - an electric leisure car with 918 horsepower!

In addition to the name of the new Lotus starting and ending with the letter “e” according to the classic nomenclature, it is not a matter of preserving tradition, the British brand did not even produce a vehicle similar to the Electre. Because it is a 5.1 meter long, 2 ton electric leisure car, the top version of which has 918 horsepower! The founder of the brand, Colin Chapman, must be turning in his grave, as his principles of building compact and light cars seem to have been forgotten… In any case, this change shows that the Chinese Geely, as an owner, is nothing cowardly in the hope of expanding the market, they also accept bold decisions. For example, it is also bold that Elet is being prepared not on British soil, but in Wuhan, China.

While the exterior, with its striking front, huge wheel arches and sporty rear, is what you expect from this type of car, the interior is another world. Most of the technocrat-style nifty equipment elements promote “green” thinking, for example the lower upholstery is made entirely from recycled material and sustainably sourced fabric seats can be requested instead of leather seats.

The base versions come in a 5-seat configuration, but those who want real pampering in the back row can choose the Executive Seat package, where they get an armchair-like 2-seater design. In addition to the soft-touch door, it is worth noting the Dolby Atmos sound system. According to Lotus, the latter provides an experience as if you were sitting next to the musician in the studio.

In the spirit of changing times, the model is produced exclusively in an electric version, with a gigantic 112 kWh battery and twin-engine all-wheel drive. The Eletre and Eletre S models produce 603 horsepower, while the R version with a 2-speed gearbox has 918 horsepower – the range of the top model is just 490 kilometers, compared to 600 kilometers for the other two versions. The R model is truly the most electric leisure car, as in addition to being able to reach a top speed of up to 265 km/h, the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 2.95 seconds. Perhaps even more impressive is the jump from 80 to 120 km/h in 1.9 seconds! In terms of pricing, Lotus has clearly shot its novelty below its competitors, basic Electre prices in Germany are between 95,990 and 150,990 euros
