Tesla está se preparando para receber uma prensa gigante para estampar picapes Cybertruck

Company coming soon the huge 9,000 ton Giga Press press for manufacturing Cybertruck pickup

Pickup Cybertruck has already become the most anticipated car of the future, although its mass production has not yet started. But it seems like the chances of that are growing by the day. Those who ordered the Cybertruck will surely be pleased to know that Musk's company has already paid Italian group IDRA to supply several massive presses needed to produce intricate parts of the "cybercar" bodywork.

Recently, a photo appeared on the web where you can see the 9,000-ton Giga Press device inside. And earlier, a picture of the biggest dish for him was published. It's worth noting that Musk has announced plans to launch the Cybertruck in 2019 and has repeatedly delayed the start of deliveries.

Now, there's every chance he'll deliver on his promise, and new cars will start coming to their owners. Starting to receive orders, Tesla received the support of about a million users who proved their willingness to pre-order this “toy for adults”. The total amount they will pay for the electric SUVs of the future will be a staggering $80 billion.

However, calculating when exactly the Giga Press will reach Austin is no easy job given the vast number of factors influencing shipping times.

What's clear is the new press will be an essential part of the Tesla Cybertruck production line as it will be used to churn out the pickup's massive body panels and chassis components. The Giga Press being on its way to Giga Texas ties in with recent information released in Tesla's Q3 2022 Shareholder Deck in which the Tesla Cybertruck's production status is listed as "tooling," meaning it's preparing for production.

The first time Tesla mentioned the need for a gigantic press was in the Q4 2020 earnings call, when CEO Elon Musk noted that the upcoming Cybertruck would require a far larger machine than existing Tesla products. IDRA Group was not named as the manufacturer of the press at the time, but the relationship between the two companies has become public since.
