The diesel sedan has covered 1,584,589 kilometers and so far shows no signs of needing a major overhaul of its engine, despite its venerable age.
It was certainly not spared as owner Luan Nina used it to work as a taxi driver in Albania for the past 15 years after the car was imported from Germany. During that time, he drove nearly a million kilometers in his trusty sedan, equipped with the original engine.
In fact, he only had to repair it once. In an interview with Deutsche Welle - the German state-owned international public broadcaster - the owner revealed that the only problem he ever had with the E-Class was a failed head gasket. Despite being 70 years old, Luan Ning has no plans to retire anytime soon. The same can be said for his Mercedes, as he continues to work as a taxi driver.
Interestingly, DW reports that one in three cars registered in Albania is a used Mercedes, and there are around 212,000 of them on the road. Most of them are already out of their prime (more than 10 years). This E-Class only shows 584,589 kilometers, but that's because the odometer went back to zero after reaching 1 million kilometers.
Not long ago, our publication wrote that sales of the Mercedes-Benz EQ reached a new record in Q3 2022 in the United States. In September, the Mercedes-Benz EQ range was replenished with the EQS SUV and EQB models.
