New details about the Geely Xingyue L (Monjaro) PHEV hybrid crossover have become known in China. They were shared by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. This car will be able to drive over 200 km on pure electricity.
In China, the Geely Monjaro is now available in a traditional hybrid (HEV) version, which has been prefixed with Hi-F in its name. It is equipped with a powerful electric motor, but the traction battery has a low capacity, which excludes driving with the engine off. But a more plug-in hybrid option will be equipped with a roomy battery that can be charged from a wall outlet.
The Monjaro plugin was seen in the Chinese Ministry of Industry catalogue. Its dimensions correspond to the petrol version (4770 x 1895 x 1689 mm with a wheelbase of 2845 mm). Externally, the hybrid version can be recognized by modified bumpers, a new nameplate and an additional hatch, behind which there is a connector for connecting the charger. The Monjaro will be powered by a 1.5 liter engine with 204 hp. and electric motor. The total power of the plant will exceed 300 hp.
As for the Monjaro traction battery, the Chinese giant CATL will be its supplier. Batteries with slightly different capacities and weights will be available for the crossover: the first is 39.63 kWh with a mass of 249 kg, the second is 39.81 kWh with a mass of 255 kg.
Regardless of the battery, the Monjaro has a claimed pure electric range of 205km.
The Chinese Ministry of Industry also shared data on fuel consumption. It turned out that the plug-in hybrid will consume 5.3 liters per 100 km. At the same time, the most economical, if you focus on official data, will be the Monjaro in the traditional hybrid version - 4.79 liters per 100 kilometers are declared for it. Most likely, the increase in mass became the “culprit” for the increase in consumption: the PHEV is 257 kg heavier than the HEV.
The prices and market launch date of the Geely Monjaro PHEV are not yet known.
